The Forest Hill Youth Program has been underway for over a year now. Lyndsey McCall is the Director of Christian Education and serves us by providing a well-developed program including a balanced schedule of Bible Study, Worship, Mission and Fellowship for our young people. Any and all young people are welcomed to attend any of our planned events geared toward making young disciples of Jesus Christ.

CHILDREN'S SUNDAY MORNING MINISTRY
Currently on Sunday mornings during worship, our youth have an option whether they would like to attend service or come to a children's program that helps young people develop Bible literacy. Summer through the Fall we will be working with the "We Believe" Presbyterian Curriculum that explores Bibles Stories that deal particularly with Land and Sea. During our class we usually spend the first few minutes catching up on how everyone is doing, then quickly we move into reading the Bible Story for the day. Lyndsey then leads the children in a few questions, crafts, music and finally, prayer. At the present time we have children anywhere from 8-15years in the Children's class. Whenever you worship, your Children are always welcome to join us!

YOUTH MINISTRY PROGRAM

We had a wonderful first year of youth ministry at FHPC! Last planning year we began with evening youth meetings that involved Bible study and recreation. We wanted our youth to feel like they were an important part of the church and so we gave them a room which they painted themselves. Our youth helped out with a Halloween Party event for the children of the community and especially, the Child Care Center children. Our youth went Christmas Caroling at the Retirement Community and helped in Christmas Eve Worship. We emphasized mission a key aspect of being a Christian so we first attended the POJ event to kickoff our mission efforts by serving at Boaz and Ruth and then, participated in painting "The Arts in the Alley" to create a better atmosphere for those in a lower income area of Richmond. We've also been Ice Skating and Go-Cart racing as part of a fellowship effort. In the beginning of July we went on our best trip yet, The Youth Mission Trip! We had a great time! We went to North Carolina and stayed at Shallotte Presbyterian Church while we served at the local Habitat for Humanity Thrift Shop and cleaned the beach. We also made it to Myrtle Beach where we played in the ocean and went to a fun water park but we didn't just work and play, we also studied and prayed. It was a wonderful trip and we hope to do something as fun in the future!
